Places to go


Prague has a numbers of places to go some of them are as follows;

Kutná Hora , a silver mining town in medieval times: once the second Czech city to Prague in terms of population.

Novosedly na Moravě a small town in the Moravian wine region of the Czech Republic.

Karlštejn Castle is located approximately 20km west of Prague. It is the most visited and one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic.

Konopiste, was the residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand (heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne).

Český Ráj (Bohemian Paradise) earned its name in the nineteenth century due to its pictaresque location in the foothills of the Giant Mountains and its many castles and chateaus.

The
Prague Castle (Pražský Hrad) is the former seat of the kings and now the seat of the Czech president.

The Lesser Town of
Prague (Czech: Malá Strana) is the lower area next to the Castle district,

Loreta A beautiful Baroque convent in the Lesser Town.

Strahov Monastery A monastery on the mountain. Worth a visit for both its picture gallery and its notable Renaissance library.

Prague Dancing House (Fred and Ginger Building). One of the most fascinating architectural expressions of Prague. Accessed from the Karlovo náměstí metro station.

Vyšehrad A nice castle worth a visit.

Petřínská rozhledna A smaller version of the Eiffel Tower on the top of a hill.

Prague Giant Metronome It is a huge monument erected in order to replace the Stalinistic monument that preceded it.

Žižkov Television Tower, Mahlerovy sady 1, Praha 3, tel. +42/0 267 005 778, info@tower.cz,. Open 10AM-11PM every day. Famously built by the communists in order to jam foreign radio signals the most hideous building in Prague offers spectacular views of the city. Admission is 150Kč for adults and 120Kč/60Kč for students/children under 14.

Kafka's Grave,
Olsany Hrbitovy, Praha 3. Take the metro to Zelivskeho on the red line and follow the signs to the New Jewish Cemetery. Kafka's grave is signposted around 100m along the path to your right from the entrance. Men should cover their heads. The cemetery is closed on Saturdays.

FK Viktoria Žižkov, At Husinecka tram stop (trams 5, 9, 26). Very old football team who have seen better days, including knocking Glasgow Rangers out of the UEFA cup in 2002. After a corruption scandal and a string of poor results they now reside in the second division.
